Come join us at The Giving Tree in the afternoon! We now offer afternoon programs in three languages: English, French and Chinese as well as ballet classes on Saturdays! The Giving Tree's afternoon programs follow our play-based teaching philosophy where our schedule consists of a good variety of fun and educational activities: story-telling, painting, recycling art projects, learning centers, water-play and even cooking! For more detailed information, please see below:

French program with teacher Julie (3 to 5 years old)

Our French program welcomes both native and non-native speakers in the age-group 3 to 5 years old. The aim is to introduce French vocabulary to non-French speakers and extend the vocabulary and conversational skills of those who already speak the language.  The activities are adapted to the children’s abilities. Our teacher, Julie, is a native speaker and she is supported by two teacher assistants who both speak French and they only use French in the classroom. Classes are from 1.30 to 3.30 on Monday to Friday in our new branch in BKK1 (street 334, house nr 40).

NEW! Chinese with teacher Yen (2.5 to 5 years old)

Teacher Yen is a Chinese Malaysian and teaches Mandarin on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at our main campus (street 71, house #17) from 1.30 to 3.30. Building on our play-based approach, Yen focuses on introducing the Chinese language and vocabulary and extend conversational skills. As with our French program, the activities are adapted to the children’s abilities and levels of understanding, so we can welcome both native and non-native speakers.

Afternoon program in English with teacher Rachel (4 to 5 years old)

At The Giving Tree’s campus on street 334, children aged 4 to 5 can join our afternoon program in English with teacher  Rachel every weekday from 1 to 3.30. Rachel is a native English speaker and has experience working with children in a pre-school setting. She has received an international Montessori teacher training and has a good knowledge of drama, music and visual arts and engages children in a variety of fun activities, from story-time, cooking, art-projects, drama and dance to theme work and singing.

Afternoon program in English with teacher Makara (18 months to 3 years old)

Makara’s afternoon program continues to be packed with entertaining and educational activities: music, dance, art, cooking, origami and library time where the children get the opportunity to learn, explore, and most importantly, have fun! The children can enjoy our indoor and outdoor facilities in a well balanced program of free play and structured activities. At our main campus on street 71, we welcome children aged 18 months to 4 years every weekday from 1 to 3.30.

Afternoon program in Toul Kork with teacher Annina (18 months to 5 years old)

The Giving Tree’s branch in Toul Kork is now open all day! Children aged 18 months to 5 years can come and play, learn, explore, make new friends and enjoy a variety of activities in the afternoons with teacher Annina and teacher Chenda, including art work, water play, free painting, library time and our weekly cooking class. Annina and her teacher assistants ensure age appropriate support for each of the activities while encouraging children to interact positively across age groups. Our afternoon program runs from 1 to 3:30.

Ballet

Bridie Sweetman from New Zealand is The Giving Tree’s ballet teacher. She is trained in classical ballet by Royal Academy of Dance where she finished Grade 8. Since she completed Grade 8, she has taught ballet in New Zealand and Cambodia. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings, from 10 to 11 in our music/ballet room, which is especially tailored for dancers taking their first steps.

Come visit us on the weekends!

We would love for our students and their parents to enjoy our playground facilities outside of school hours!  Our outside play areas and swimming pools in our three branches are available to our students and their immediate family members over the weekend. Please stop by the office and complete a liability waiver form before and then you can enjoy The Giving Tree all week!
